I don't really have a projection on Gus, he's obviously struggled a bit, but why is it that by watching this game people are writing off Gus?

It's Kwik-e-Mart policy to find a scapegoat or sacrificial lamb, if you will.

Thank You! Come again!

Indeed.  Man are they ever going to on him after this game, 5 goals on 27 shots, although I'm not sure which ones he should have stopped. (1 tip-in, 2 kessel alone, 3 phaneuf blast, 4 goalmouth scramble, and finally 5 ridonkulous move by grabbo all alone)

Well, that's part of it, as well. He wasn't good, but, none of the goals he allowed were really of the weak, should have had it variety. He couldn't come up with the big save, which is something he needs to do if the Habs are going to win, but, he didn't allow any stinkers, either.

Right, but no one on the broadcast said "Damn! Carey Price's SV% is horrendous. Actually... it's worse than Gustavsson's, the guy we've been railing on all game!"

They weren't exactly praising Price, either.

No, but they were far more forgiving. All that's etched in my mind after the games is "Wow, Gus is sloppy" and "Wow, Price is making great saves!" or no real criticism of Price after any of the goals. He wasn't exactly Gus' foil tonight that, I think, the broadcasters made it seem simply through the lack of criticism.

@jonastsn1050 "Wilson says it was whiplash like symptoms for Reimer. Could have finished game but erred on side of caution."

That is encouraging.

Very!!  Sore neck (assuming that's what he means by whiplash) is much better news than concussion.

Grabovski should have a great year this year.  I think I predicted him for a drop off in another thread but I think last year might have been just the beginning.

I thought alot of our D played well on the offence side tonight.  Phaneuf, Liles, Gardiner, and Gunnarson all looking good.

It would be nice to see that line off to a faster start, but I keep hearing that they were slow out of the gate last year as well. Hopefully it doesn't translate to losses due to lack of immediate offense.

I didn't notice Schenn tonight, which is a good thing for him. I also thought Komisarek bounced back and wasn't as bad as his last game.

I still can't help but feel they could've been a little better with the Habs forwards coming in all alone on the wing. It looked to me a number of times the only reason there wasn't a breakaway in the game was the insanely good stick checking of Gardiner. And possibly a combination of a somewhat jittery Gus and some well placed shots.

Gus stopped Plekanec on a breakaway, I believe.

I have brought Grabo's line out of a slump after comments I made recently in other threads.  You may praise me now.

Can you find a thread on Luke, Mac, Komi, Liles, Naz and Gus?

Can I praise you for your kickass Username instead?

Yes you can.  I think I had more to do with that than the winning goal.

Gus had no shot on the Kostisyn goal. The second one was tipped. Cammalleri's goal was stoppable if Goose would have come out and challenged the shot more, he gave Cammi way too much net to see. I don't think he was horrendous, but he's not in mid-season form and just coming off a shelling.

And I spoke to Gus's awsomeness at least a couple of times on the old board. Yay Leafs on Saturday night!
You may puke on my mullet.

And please, just in case, start with Gus!

I was at the Ticat game. Glad the Leafs pulled this one out.
Great night for sports.
Grabovski made a point about being a go to guy tonight.

Go Leafs.
Habs Suck!
