Will there be a link anywhere online to watch this?

Try these:

http://www.wiziwig.tv/broadcast.php?matchid=209238&part=sports

The last one should be up 1 hr before the draft starts (up at 2 p.m.)

Awesome thanks, I will give them a go, I am at work right now, time to get all my work orders done before the draft so I can try catch some of the draft, I am glad I am off July 5th when free agency opens up, the gf won't like me being glued to my phone looking up signings/rumours but oh well ;D

I'd like to see them take 'Gauthier' with their 1st. Big, two-way centre, smart and supposedly clutch. I've seen a few mocks that have him in the mid teens but a few others have him around 20, 21. Would be a nice grab if he's available imo.

As per Dreger

Leafs and Canes have talked about 5th overall. Might cost Toronto Morgan Rielly as part of a package. Not close, but discussed. #TSN

Afternoon chaps.

Just on an educational note for me, I notice that there's a lot of trading up/down to take the nth pick prior to the draft but never immediately or soon after for a specific player. How come teams do not tend to trade afterwards? E.g. if the Leafs wanted a specific player then why not at least attempt to trade with the team that ultimately drafts that player afterwards? Is there a rule stopping them from being traded for a certain period after?

I wonder if they're targeting Monahan?

What? Trade the #1 ranked player in last years draft?

That only makes sense if they're bringing in a guy like Letang. Phaneuf package for Letang (sign and trade), Reilly for the 5th (Monahan)  ;)

I would just assume that at that point, the other teams got who they wanted. That is, if the Leafs wanted player x and another team drafted him ahead of them, it's probably because they really wanted him and are then reluctant to part with them. Just my guess though.

0% chance this happens

The #5 from the year before (1 year of development under his belt) for the #5 this year? I don't think it makes much sense personally unless the forward that we take is a can't miss prospect.

Beyond the top 3 picks I haven't heard that the others are that type of prospect.

DarrenDreger: Canes have 2 firm offers and a 3rd nibbling on 5th overall. Toronto is out. Carolina may wait until 4th pick to make a deal.

I'm glad. The rumored price is just silly. Gardiner or Rielly in any deal doesn't really make sense IMO.

I get the sense that the meeting with Lecavalier didn't go well and Nonis decided to just draft our own 6'4 Quebecois center out of spite.

Make that Quebecois center who's 6' 4 and a half...
