Leafs Injury Updates

Damian Cox seems to think 7 Leafs injuries is no big deal. Claims core of team is healthy except for Reimer. Just had an argument with him on Twitter. LOL

Cox is so funny.  Real pros never take bait from fans.  But he has, several times, over the years.

MacArthur and Brown could both be back for the next game, which would put Orr and Rosehill back into the press box.

That's definately good news. They're a total waste of ice time.

Only about 9 or 10 minutes combined - which is the coach's way of backing up your point.

Cox's crazy claim that 7 guys out doesn't matter is too ignorant to bother with.

He's such a douche.

We certainly won't be getting any production from Crabb, Rosehill, Orr and Dupuis.

A healthy Grabovski, MacArthur, Armstrong and Lomardi would be miles ahead.

That is such a monumental difference it's not even worth going into detail.

Yeah I know, it's difficult arguing in 140 characters or less.  He finally left off with "I'll assume you're not serious and leave it at that:)" tweet to me when I pointed out MacArthur/Grabovksi combined for 120 points last season and you can't easily replace that.

He's mellowed or is not as bad as he was but to dismiss your point seems typical of him from my exchanges with him in years gone by. He'll probably always be a smug jackass that will tend to quickly dismiss reason rather than admit error in my opinion.

When I questioned his article criticizing the Nolan trade by showing just months previously, he had taken some credit for it with him as part of the media who 'pressured' the Leafs to do it, the response was to purge his article archive.

As we saw in the Reimer's Mom controversy with Cox: criticizing the Leafs is fair game but with Cox, the Leafs or anyone criticizing the media or Cox is not necessarily accepted or allowed - even when you've pretty much nailed them as I did with the Nolan articles.

markhmasters: James Reimer on the ice in Tampa; 4th straight day for the #Leafs goalie #NHL

markhmasters: Holzer and MacArthur the only other #Leafs on the ice today ... Team has day off after back to back over the weekend #NHL

Good news about Reimer.  I hope that means he's progressing well and will be ready in a week or so like Burke said.

He's not wrong. Except for Reimer and all the injured guys, they're healthy.

To emphasize the importance of the players missing: Armstrong, Komisarek and Grabovski have all worn the A at some point this season. Regardless of their statistical play, they are seen *by the team* as being valuable *to the team*.

Matt Lombardi may require surgery.

According ot Mirtle, his seperated shoulder will need surgery, either now or after the season and could be facing a recovery that will take several months.

Oy.

DarrenDreger: Confirming Lombardi shoulder dislocation.  May need surgery in the future...not imminent at the moment.

Just when I thought he was finding his legs.

Some guys, if it wasn't for bad luck, would have no luck at all.

We got some games out of him this year that to be honest defied logic but this one might be something that kills his career.  I'm not sure how well he is going to handle essentially losing 2 years in a row (assuming he eventually gets the surgery and ends his season).  It always seems like this is how these scenarios play out.  They say he can either get the surgery now or do it later but eventually they end up being stuck doing it sooner because they get a setback or nothing heals the way they hope.

Yup.  Look at Peter Regin for the Sens.

He had shoulder surgery, killed his season, came back this year and re-injured his shoulder.  They are saying he may need another operation or can try and play through it.  It's likely his season is over again and possibly his career (although he is still very young.)

Too bad about Lombardi.  It would have been nice to see him come back, play this year, train hard in the summer without rehabilitating something the come back next year fully prepared.  Looks like that won't be the case regardless of how his shoulder holds up.

Connolly, Lombardi, Armstrong and Brown have all had injury troubles in recent years and all 4 are plagued with injuries again this year.

I'm quite concerned Lupul may be next  :-\
