No. I'm kind of hoping Scrivens gets a two-way.

You do know the whole 1-way/2-way only impacts how much they earn at various levels and has no impact on anything else, right?

Not the 23 man thing too?

Nope...nor waiver exemption status, etc.

Hmmm, I thought it did... Still, I think I'd be fine with running with three keepers. It's not ideal but given our situation, I say may the best two men win...

It can, in rare cases, impact waivers, but, only when a player that would be waiver exempt is on a 2-way deal that earns him an AHL salary over a certain threshold. It's a really convoluted part of the rule that barely ever impacts anyone of note, and is only worth mentioning in the context of it's existence, since, really, it almost never has an impact.

Yeh, based on the Nash deal, I thinmFrattin is a bit aof an overpayment for a non proven 3 year goaltender with 48 total games.... I'll stand thanks

Based on the Nash deal?  What could a trade for Bernier have to do with a trade for Rick Nash?

Player value or alt least percieved value ... is that so diffucult to grasp? Happy to help

I guess we'll find out tomorrow if the twitter trolls are right. They're saying the deal is done. Frattin and a pick.

I'd be pretty disappointed giving up Frattin.

I don't want to see them flip Frattin just like that either. Value wise it seems fair, but I think down the road he's gonna be a guy we'll be glad we held onto. Or, that we wish we had..

Frattin's hardly proven either, though
.

We could very well say the same thing about the other prospects, but the fact that the Kings will settle for Frattin and not a Kadri or a Colborne, might just indicate that they think he's the better prospect based on his potential.

If this trade is indeed true, I'd loathe to let go of Frattin, injured or not.

Grammar police here, but there's no need for the indefinite article. There is only one Nazem Kadri and one Joe Colborne on the team.

True, but given how mediocre each season has been for Toronto, that could end up being a high pick in what is currently expected to be a pretty deep draft.

And while Bernier was drafted with potential, his numbers are quite mudane for a guy who has played on some pretty defensively responsible teams.  Even with Randy has the coach, the Leafs are going to be scattered in the defensive zone compared to the Kings.  A .910 SV% extrapolated to the Leafs stellar defense (which currently would have Komisarek getting in a full season) doesn't strike me as something that should require giving up a reasonable prospect who showed at the very least that he has NHL capabilities + a draft pick.

Guy who might be a good 2nd line winger for guy who might be a #1 goaltender.  Both unproven (relatively).

I'll take the chance on the goaltender, based on need.

Sorry, who exactly claimed this was a done deal (or close to it?)

It's been buzzing around twitter from one of the self proclaimed rumor-heads.  Nothing legit yet.

Frattin and a pick for Bernier is the suggestion.  Worth discussing on a slow day I guess.
