Leo Komarov

Is Komorov a LW or RW or both? Just thinking Komorov/Brown bookends might not be all that fun to line up against.

I'm pretty sure he played centre in the KHL and left wing at the World Championships.

Well that's good... Could mean trouble for Crabb (unless he can make a case for himself on the third line.)

I'd keep Crabb around and have him rotate with Komarov and Brown. And with Brown and Armstrong's injury woes, I'm sure he'll still get plenty of playing time.

It quite likely means that Crabb finds himself not receiving a contract offer from the Leafs and heads into a weak UFA market to ply his wares.

Bottom 4 wingers; Lombardi, Armstrong, Brown, Crabb, Komorov... Maybe Frattin or Kadri in there somewhere. Unless we can dispose of Lombardi or Army, Crabb's a gonner.

Isn't he pretty much the perfect 13th forward though? I mean, I guess it would be up to him if he wants to play that role or take a chance at free agency though.

It also wouldn't surprise me to see the team bring in someone like Moen or David Jones (more traditional 3rd line types) from the UFA market. Also, someone who can play and drop the gloves in addition to Brown. I don't really see there being a spot for Crabb unless the team really strikes out this summer or a lot of other pieces are moved out.

Yes... and for what he is, I rather like him but given Lombardi's and Army's beefy contracts, unless some magic can be worked out, Crabb just might be a casualty.

Man, Moen or Jones + Komorov replacing Army and Lombardi for presumably a fraction of  the price? Sounds good to me!... But even with those to going (and it's big if they both go) Crabb would still have to win one of two/three spots in a competition with Brown, Frattin, and Kadri and I'm not seeing it either.

After reading into his profile, I see the team he was on just won the KHL Championship as well. Not a bad year for 'Leo' Degenero!

He could win me over once I see him play in the pre-season but this signing has an Alex Kudashov/Rickard Wallin/Jonas Frogren vibe to it. Make no mistake, this guy plays dirty, not necessarily a bad thing.

mirtle: Contract terms on Leafs' Leo Komarov: entry level deal, one year, $1.2-million cap hit. $350,000 of that is bonuses: http://t.co/6ihtjf57

RFA or UFA at seasons end?  Because won't he be 27 years old which would take him to unrestricted free agency?

Edit:  Nevermind.  I see this answered last page.

The rule is 7 seasons or 27 years old, whatever comes first.

I know, thats why I was saying "won't he be 27 after this year?"  Unless his bday is late or whatever.

Komarov is going to be like Darcy was at his best, someone you hate to play against.....exactly what we need....lets add about two more as well.

I doubt that.  Tucker at his best scored 28 goals and 61 points.
