Marlies Talk 14/15 | aka What's Nylander up to?

Leivo McKegg Abbot
Bodie Carrick Broll
Biggs Devane Vail

Granberg Mikkelson
MacWilliam Nilsson

Gibson

That's the rest of the lineup.

Smith from Brown and it's 1-0 Marlies.

Utica 2-1 converting on their second full 2 minute 5 on 3.

Marlies have been terribly undisciplined.

Granberg also made the softest clearing attempt I've ever seen on that PK.

Depth is a good thing? I wonder how long the Marlies will be carrying 28 skaters. A lot of guys are going to be unhappy with no playing time.

Victor Loov wins it in 3 on 3 OT for the Marlies, his second goal of the game.

The Leafs probably should have taken a Toronto boy with that pick.

Tyler Biggs everyone.

Marlies reassign prospects Tyler Biggs, Eric Knodel, Ryan Rupert and Garret Sparks to Oralndo of ECHL

That's not surprising. Sparks going down is though, many assumed he would be the starter with the Marlies but Bibeau started the season opener and Gibon won today.

He also added that Brad Ross was sent to Orlando as well.

Someone should send this to Cherry.

Tell Don that all he needs is "Loov".  Seriously Don, you is da Biggs guy in hockey show business. Don, where the hell is Stuart Percy from Flemishland?  Where is Rielly from Potatoland?
and Andres Johnson scoreds something like 18 points in a 5 game tournament this past week.

Time for Don to sign a new tune, the Ballard Shuffle ended when Hal was planted.

Blake Kessel also went down to the ECHL

As for 2011 1st rounder 21 yr old Biggs and 2010 2nd rounder 22 yr old Ross, their potential NHL careers are "done like dinner". If they can't crack an AHL roster as a forward at that age, they're never going to accomplish much in the NHL. Ditto for 24 yr old dman Knodel and 25 yr old Blake Kessel.

Sparks is a different case as they want him to get some starts.

I'm willing to cut Knodel a little more slack - this will be his first full pro season. I don't think he has a ton of potential, but, I'm not going to take this cut as an indication of much for him, yet. As for the rest, I agree. They're all very much long shots to have more than a cup of coffee in the NHL.

Sparks and Gibson might switch spots fairly soon unless they want Sparks starting in ECHL.

Gibson has looked shaky today giving up 4 in the 2nd period.
