Yeah, I do think that being sent to play in the AHL after performing in the NHL is going to be seen as a demotion even if, as in these circumstances, that's not the intent of it. I think teams will be cautious with that and only really do it with players who very might legitimately spend more time in the AHL in future seasons.

The Marlies playoff road could be an interesting one depending on how tonight unfolds.

Chicago is tied 2-2 in their series against Utica
Rockford swept their first round series against Texas
Oklahoma swept their first round series against San Antonio

If the Marlies and Chicago can win their series the next round would be:

Rockford (4th seed) vs. Chicago (8th seed)
Oklahoma (6th seed) vs. Toronto (7th seed)

Yeah, the clutch and grab stuff is brutal, they let 9 out of 10 go and then call 1 that's a marginal call at best.
