Rod Langway, Randy Carlyle and Dave Farrish had done the same with him.
Carlyle coached Eakins in Winnipeg and Farrish coached Eakins in Moncton.
As I mentioned before, Farrish & Carlyle were dmen paired together for three season with the Sudbury Wolves. Farrish put up a few more points than Carlyle over those three seasons and was drafted #24 overall by the Rangers, 4 places ahead of Leafs pick, Carlyle.
Farrish bounced around the NHL a little including playing most of three of seasons with the Leafs.

Anybody know if they are going to turf the strength and conditioning staff (Anthony Belza?)
These guys looked like they've been gassed since the All Star break.
Also, don't think it's a coincidence that Luke Schenn has looked so slow since their hiring in 2009.
Schenn had one year under Matt Nichol correct?

Well, Schenn had two injuries that offseason that needed attention, one to his eye which wasn't of consequence to training but he couldn't do much with his knee that summer and it showed the next year on top of being a sophomore.
I think his troubles are more between the ears than anything else, fwiw.

Incidentally, unless I have missed something, Wilson hasn't had an interview with the media since his departure. Maybe he blames them for the last 3+ seasons for the Leafs dismal campaigns. Maybe he's been muzzled.

I really enjoyed watching him talk last night post-game, very candid and still supportive of his players.

Well, I can't really speak to Wilson like that but with a coaching change that involves a real different philosophy, style and approach I don't think you can nail that down easily in so few games. That's a transition that'll take some time to really judge fairly.
