2011/2012 Injury Thread

Haven't heard anything official but some folks believe Hall could be done for the year as a result of last night's freak accident.  :o

Based on the reports coming from the team, that seems unlikely. He's out for the next few days, but, I'll be pretty surprised if he's not back after the All Star break at the latest.

EDIT:

Right on cue:

TSNRyanRishaug: Rumours of Taylor Hall being done for the year are untrue. At this point that hasn't been decided.

Here he is after taking that skate to the head. Looks like it nicked him pretty badly.

Holy crap. He is one lucky dude, that could have easily been so much worse.

Its almost as if the players dont pay attention to their surroundings when they're skating. And the whole jump over the guy thing never works. I think Wayne Simmonds demonstrated that effectively already.

That is what stood out for me. Why jump over anybody, when you have skates on, that should never be a move that somebody makes. You have a set of knives on your feet!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it.  If dude would have just stayed on his feet and tripped over them, they may have gotten a bruise or two, but probably would have gotten up laughing.

Exactly, I'm not sure if anybody on the team or in the media had said anything about that, but I'm sure the guy feels bad about it, certainly when he saw afterwords, what he had done to his teammates head . I know I would have felt afterwords that I could have killed somebody, as somebody had mentioned, it could have been his neck quite easily.

At this rate, everybody in the league will experience concussion like symptoms, or be out with an actual concussion.

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Oilers say RNH aggravated shoulder injury and that's why he left 3rd period as a precaution. Will be re-evaluated tomorrow
