Didn't watch the game, but saw in the box score that the Bruins got the lion's share of the penalties. If anyone watched the game, was that warranted? The article said they were definitely the more physical of the two teams.
Just watching the brawl, I have no idea how the Bruins ended up going down two men.
Thornton gives a weak slash on Burrows, maybe you call a slash on that if its been a chippy game and you are trying to stop something from happening. Burrows turns around and gets his stick up at Thornton's head (hit him more in the shoulder, but what the hell is he doing). Thornton then goes after Burrows. THREE Canucks jump Thornton throwing punches at him. TWO-THREE additional Canucks throw punches at him from the bench.
Weise fights Horton. Lucic was half on the bench on a line-change and came back on the ice as there were six Canucks on the ice in the fighting. He went after Burrows and Alex chickens.
Result:
Thornton gets a penalty for slashing
Burrows DOESN'T get a penalty for spearing/sticking his stick in Thornton's face that led to Thornton going ape on Burrows.
Thornton gets a roughing penalty for going after Burrows.
The THREE Canucks that jump Thornton DON'T get a roughing call.
LUCIC gets a roughing penalty for going after Burrows, 10 minutes and a game for leaving the bench.
Burrows and Lapierre get 10 minute misconducts for Vancouver.
Horton/Weise get 5 for fighting.
So the net is Boston gets 6 minutes of servable penalties and Vancouver gets a 2 minute 5 on 3 + an additional 2 minute PP. That's a joke.
