The Jays took Jon Harris, a college righty, with their 1st round pick. Described as a "steal" and ranked by some in the top 10 of the draft

It looks like the Blue Jays also picked him in the 33rd round in 2012, but he opted for college and didn't sign back then.

Well, have to figure that speaks well to his signability then.

So the Jays were losing 8-1 after 3 innings tonight.  Picked up a few runs and then just now scored 9 runs in the 7th to lead 13-8.

you can't count them out anymore.  They play as if they believe in each other.

They have an explosive offence, and plenty of confidence to go with it

They appear to have really come together as a team.  Their confidence is contagious.  I wonder what the change is?  It seems to me that that the turn around started to happen not long after Donaldson made that comment, something along the lines of "this isn't the try league, it's the get it done league...".

Good that they have leadership in him.

From the outside looking in, it does seem to me that he has become a leader

Cherry spending two minutes talking about the All-star game voting during a Stanley Cup finals game was kind of ridiculous...almost as ridiculous as the Royals fans stuffing the ballot box.  I only included relevant comparison players from the Jays.  Normally I would be one to say that all-star game voting is largely irrelevant but since Bud Selig decided it was a good idea to make the game result in home field advantage for the World Series fan voting needs to stop if this is what is going to happen.

C Salvador Perez (4.4 million votes)    .285/.297/.478/.775  10 HR 29 RBI
C Russel Martin (800 thousand votes)  .279/.359/.513/.873  10 HR 32 RBI

1B Eric Hosmer (3.5 million votes)  .298/.370/.472/.842  7 HR 36 RBI

3B Mike Moustakas (4 million votes)  .318/.369/.452/.820  5 HR 20 RBI
3B Josh Donaldson (2.3 million votes) .316/.368/.580/.948  17 HR 45 RBI

SS Alcides Escobar (3.9 million votes)  .255/.285/.341/.626  2 HR 18 RBI  4 SB
SS Jose Reyes (464 thousand votes)    .296/.326/.400/.726  2 HR 20 RBI  9 SB

OF Lorenzo Cain (4.2 million votes)  .284/.335/.403/.738  4 HR 24 RBI
OF Alex Gordon  (3.4 million votes)  .259/.376/.454/.830  8 HR 29 RBI
OF Alex Rios (2.3 million votes)        .197/.232/.273/.505  1 HR 8 RBI
OF Jose Bautista (1.2 million votes)  .247/.382/.500/.882  11 HR 38 RBI

DH Kendrys Morales (3.2 million votes)  .281/.342/.457/.799  7 HR 41 RBI

Another big win. This team is just crushing the ball right now.

And Sanchez goes on the DL with "Upper Body Soreness"

Codename: Tommy John

Nice things, Toronto may not have them.

The Jays outscored the Red Sox by a combined 31-19

Well they're saying it's a lat strain which, and I know I'm no doctor, I don't think is the same area as TJ surgery.

Chris Colabello now has 51 hits on the year for the Jays.  The Jays have had some pretty impressive offensive performances over the last few years by journeyman players.

Navarro brings Carrera home on a sacrifice fly in the 11th inning.  3-2 Jays.

Cecil blows the save in the 11th as Carerra can't handle a bloop single....and then they lose the game.

Should've won that one.  Bloop into worst possible spot with outfield playing no doubles.  Sometimes the luck turns.

It likely wasn't the right decision to play Lucas Duda that way.

He's not a good opposite field hitter.  I think it would have been the right call to play deep in RF and center but not LF.

Biggest thing was Valencia not flipping it to Reyes for the DP.  But he's not used to playing 2B and them's the breaks in an 11th inning NL game.

Should the Jays have dealt with it differently?
