Good for the Marlies.
Probably what is best for Bellows.
He probably couldn't get a NHL deal elsewhere.
His coach & GM have known him for years.
They're working on making him a better player.
Lots of resources to help him.
He's in a situation where he's proven himself to the AHL team he's with so he's going to get good ice time to earn a look next September if not sooner.

theAHL.com: Belleville beats Marlies 6-2
Bellows scores one of the goals
Hildeby pulled after giving up 3 goals in the 1st. One was a penalty shot.

Sens player who jabbed Hildeby in the arm unprovoked with the blade of his stick at the end of a period and got a misconduct for spearing was suspended for three games. Clifford, who went after him and fought him also got a three game suspension.

Looks like the Beast may be better in the minors unless they really have a deep burn at Goalie.  Contrary to what I have been saying and I realize all Goalies have their "bad days"

No different then the skaters.

A 25% shooting percentage and over half his goals coming from 1 single game is probably inflating his stats just a tad bit, but still a really good start to his rookie AHL season for a very intriguing 7th round draft pick.

Him, Hirvonen, and Voit seemed like the only real forward prospects with some NHL upside on the Marlies this season, so it was disappointing that they've all missed some or all their games with injuries this season. Nice to see Tverberg back up to full speed now, sounds like Hirvonen should be able to rejoin the line-up soon.

I've watched Tverberg many times live this season. He was doing just fine before his 4 goal game. He had 13pts in 16 games. He looks like he's fully pu to speed now after that injury. He does all the little things right and truthfully he impresses me more then any other Marlie not named Hildeby. He's getting some reps playing centre as well. I have high hopes for this kid who has made huge strides this year. Let's hope it continues.

Steeves has played very well this year.

I was trying to assess Bellows as his PTO ended.
I looked at all of his Marlies highlights (in particular his goals) - mostly through Marlies games highlights.
Left me wondering what is this linemate Tverberg guy all about? He caught my eye.
He seems to skate decently. He can physically win puck battles. He's got some finish.
They're trying him at center recently. If he can win faceoffs ...
There was a scouting report knock that he wasn't great at distributing the puck. Bellows didn't seem to mind him for that.
I've got to see him more. No question he has moved way up the prospect depth chart from a 7th pick.

I was impressed with Steeves in the 2022-23 training camp.
He seems to have performed pretty well since but I haven't seen enough of him since to be conclusive. The Leafs roster is full right now ...
Steeves is not waivers exempt next year so they're going to have to make some sort of decision.

Hirvonen back from early season eye injury

Confidence is a great thing. Didn't see this from him earlier in the year...Oh and Hildeby looks to be back in form earning his 4th SO of the year..

Not sure how common knowledge this is, but worth noting that both Tverberg and Hildeby were drafted with picks the Leafs acquired on draft day specifically to select them.

The scouting staff would have seen they were both available likely well past where the team had them ranked and pushed hard for Dubas to find a way to get a pick for them. That says a lot about how the scouts felt about them, particularly Tverberg since it's not exactly often there's a late 7th round draft who a team feels they NEED to pick (he was the 5th last pick of the draft).

We traded up 7 rds for Tverberg.

Obviously they saw something. He sure doesn't look like a 7th rounder. If he just makes it to the show it's a win.

Looks like Marlies are grooming Kokkenen on the right side. Maybe he has more chance of making the Leafs playing that side, if he can hack it of course.
