Someone better feed Kaleta his lunch.

I'm confused. By the entirely made up and pointless book of on-ice NHL justice, isn't Kaleta in the right for punching a guy who bowled over his goalie?

Yes, but he punched our star player. The Leafs would equally be in the right.

This is when i get bored and annoyed and start looking for random pictures

So the star player is exempt from punching if he bowls over a goalie? That doesn't seem right.

No. That's not what I said.

blah blah blah Miller.  Sure his positioning's been good but the Leafs are shooting directly at him. Liles' attempt to finish Kadri's pass was pretty pitful - low and back against his body toward Miller rather than high and into the gaping net.  They've got to put some traffic in front and start finishing their chances.

Yep, one of the marks of a good team is that they're able to adjust against their opposition.

Ryan Miller vs some "good" teams last season:
Boston: 1.45 GAA, .957 SV%
NY Rangers: 1.28 GAA, .952 SV%

vs Toronto: 3.34 GAA, .884 SV%

Interesting.

Do you really want to play this game?  Anecdotes aren't data.

I think it's more who did the punching. He's a dirtbag.

Oh boy we're in the mining stats to make excuses phase.

Someday we'll find the holy grail of stats that shows that nothing is the Leafs fault and they'll just hand us the Cup.

Never beats good goalies is anecdotal.

What potvin posted is data, data that disproves that the leafs never beat good goalies.

Your point would be valid if Boston and NYR didn't both have winning records against Buffalo last season.

Which nobody said was the case.  More to the point, what he did is cherry-pick data.  But that aside, it is pretty apparent that the Leafs are doing a piss-poor job of finishing great chances, something good teams find a way to do more often than bad teams.

I wouldn't say its made up at all. Its up to the discretion of the ref. Looked pretty dangerous clocking him from behind. I remember an incident involving Todd Bertuzzi a number of years ago.

It goes like this. Kessel runs over Miller. Kaleta punches Kessel. Someone punches Kaleta. Justice served.

I just don't buy that punching the guy who bowls over your goalie, regardless of who it is, constitutes a bad act that calls for retribution.

Show me where I said never beats good goalies.  You just made that up.

Some kid called Atkins just scored an absolute beauty of a goal for Columbus v the Red Wings. Check it out if you can.
