Game 2: Sabres at Leafs - Sportsnet 7:00 PM

I can't agree here.  On ice justice should always be served if a star player gets punched in the head from behind regardless of prior transgressions.  Not that I agree with it, but that is how the exchange goes.

Dollars to donuts says that if the teams were reversed we would not be saying that our player who defended his goalie would be due something in return.

It goes like this. Kessel runs over Miller. Kaleta punches Kessel. Someone punches Kaleta. Justice served.

I just don't buy that punching the guy who bowls over your goalie, regardless of who it is, constitutes a bad act that calls for retribution.

Ok, thats fine, but in the world of made up on ice justice, you don't punch star players and get away with it.

Why are you arguing the minutia of a play that amounted to very little?

Why do you care?

Is it not a valid question?

Isn't mine?

Depends who ran our goalie.

The Leafs have certainly had a lot of shots but only one prime scoring chance by my count (the Kadri pass to Liles).

Perhaps you underestimate the perspective of some, not everyone wear the rose-colored glasses.  It is just usually how hockey goes; player hits star player for whatever reason, other team gets mad and looks for retribution.  It's as natural as lamb and tuna fish.

Like I'm saying, that runs counter to my experiences with the game and as a fan. If you run the goalie, you get popped, no matter who you are.

You can't say it isn't for a lack of trying that's for sure. I think overall the Leafs are the better team so far. Unfortunately the scoreboard disagrees.

Nobody disagrees with that. By the same token, if you pop a star player, you get popped yourself.
