No Reimer on the ice this morning. Gustavsson and Scrivens the two goalies.

When it was first rumoured Reimer would start tonight, earlier in the week, I thought it was stupid to do so, also I thought they said that he would miss at least 2 games.

Reimer needs to rest up and take his time with this injury, if rushed back it can be a recurring injury for a long time, I got whiplash twice this year from 2 accident, the last one in August and my neck is still in pain daily and is still sore and restricted movement daily. Somedays I can barely move because of it and get sharp shooting pains into my shoulder and down my arm.

This is one of those games where I can't help but predict the Leafs lose 2-0, 1 powerplay goal, 1 empty netter.

You think that highly of Gus?  That poorly of our offense?  Or hold the Rangers in that high regard?

He's got an opportunity to make a statement tonight - hopefully, it's a darn good one because I think they'll need it.

For sure.  This is Gustavsson's chance to seize the brass ring and solidify his spot on the roster.  If he gives up a bunch of weak goals, all bets are off.

It Lundqvist is on, we're in for a long night.

Regardless of who will/won't play in net for the Leafs winning this game is about taking it out of the goalie's hands and making about the other guys on the team. The Leafs don't have a goalie on Lundqvist's level.

A few years ago even Toskala (was it?) battled Lundqvist to a 0-0 draw before losing in the shootouts.

Hoping Gus can bring his A game tonight!

Who are the picking on in Rags ville and who is in need of breaking an early season slump?  Because my money is on them scoring tonight.  Just seems to happen all so often with us.

I haven't heard much about Richards, I guess he's doing ok, but he'll probably get a hattrick tonight.

Yeah it's strange. If you are a player of any note and are struggling the Leaf game is prolly number one circled in your calendar. It does wonders for slumps. That Jagr game just proved it.

Who gives Jagr three breakaways in 1 game?

Same team that gave Jagr a breakaway while being on PK. That's how Leaf PK stands up the blueline.

All you hear about is the "depth" on the blueline and how bad Gustavsson is though.

Not just Jagr, Hartnell also.

This happened repeatedly last year and we commented on it several times throughout the season.

This has to be more than coincidence. It's as if the coaching staff tells players: Player A has not scored in 10 games, don't bother covering him and watch Player B and Player C on that line instead.
