MHL coach has been dragging Amirov since he got there
L K said:If Amirov declined to sign an extension, is that why? I would assume if they think he's leaving that Russia has a bit of that reputation of not caring about young players who want to go to North America earlier?
CarltonTheBear said:I don't really see why that rules out him signing an ELC that starts this season (would obviously slide if that happens, but he'd still get a nice signing bonus). To me that possibly says both sides might want to wait until after the trade deadline to get things done, just in case.

It mostly just rules him out of the NHL playoffs.

He could still play, couldn't he? Since he's on their reserve list? I've thought there's been some NCAA guys who signed super late and still played in the playoffs but I could be wrong and don't feel like checking that rule. Regardless, we'd have to have like 10 injuries at forward probably before he was even remotely considered for that so it seems like a moot point.

I also don't want to check the rule and I thought they had to be on the SPC list. But Reserved List sounds right. So now I want Amirov in the playoffs.
