The 2014 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

They struggled to start the year because they couldn't hit anything and got buoyed by a fantastic 20 game stretch.  Now they are back to not hitting anything.

Yup, and they've gotten away from being patient and selective, as well.

Welp, these umps are ridiculous.

EE on first, Navarro pops up to first baseman.  EE initially in way and Teixera bumps into him but EE gets out of way and Teixera makes catch.  Ump calls EE out and gives Navarro first base, for some reason.

The interference call was bogus, but, once the ump decided he wasn't going to change his mind, the way they resolved it was the correct call.

Down 5-2 in the top of the 7th. Looks like a sweep and another loss at Yankee Stadium. Embarassing. Yankees are missing 3 SP's too. I can seriously see this team in 3rd place and out of the playoffs again in another month or so, particularly after Yanks get healthy and Baltimore starts rolling.

it looks like EE's heating up again.  Nice to see.

I'm thinking the Reds might regret trading him.

You know who really should be regretting it though?  The Athletics.  They had him and non-tendered him in 2010.  At this time, the Reds had acquired a superior player in Scott Rolen and Encarnacion was more of a salary/position dump on the Jays.  JP almost screwed it up three times...argued against taking Encarnacion back in the trade in the first place, made him a DFA, let him go to Oakland on waivers.  The Jays are lucky that we have Edwin (mind you he was a trainwreck at 3B at times).

I didn't know or recall all those details, thanks.  He's now leading the majors in homers and RBI.  Plus this:
Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi
Edwin Encarnacion has hit the most home runs in the majors since the start of 2012 (101). He passed Miguel Cabrera tonight.

He's now #1 in the majors in HR since the beginning of the 2012 season.

Is it ever annoying to read the first thing from other teams' fans is the accusation that Encarnacion, Bautista and Francisco are on PEDs.
