I know BF was mostly joking, but if anything Logan is probably ahead of where Connor was at the same point in their hockey careers.
(Logan) Brown had a pretty solid rookie season in the AHL and then scored at a PPG+ rate in 25 games in his partial second AHL season. He split that in the NHL where he scored at a 28-point pace in limited minutes with a pretty terrible shooting percentage. He's just 22 years old, if anything he seems pretty poised for a breakout as long as the sens put him in a good position to succeed. The idea that he's approaching bust status seems weird.
He's played less than 30 total NHL games and he's now 22.
He has 1 NHL goal so far.
He was picked 11th overall in 2016.
I don't think it's beyond the realm of reasonableness to suggest that looks a little busty for an 11th overall pick.
But maybe you're right...he still looks to be improving, and maybe he just needed a little more time to grow into his 6'6 frame. I still think the bust vultures are circling though.
And Connor Brown is a national treasure. He was picked it the 14th round, scored 20 goals as a 22 year old, and is now a 40 point winger at the tender age of 26.
I actually can't believe that Connor Brown is 26 already.
