Game 11: Leafs @ Jets 8:00 PM LEAFS TV

I was pissed about the devereux hat trick for a long time.  beating ottawa in the last game that caused us to have 7th instead of 5th pick.  we draft kadri and the kings draft brayden schenn 5th.  I was pissed about that for a long time but not anymore now that naz is establishing himself (finally!) and now that luke got traded for jvr (would have never happened if we had his brother).  Its starting to seem like this team is starting to overcome this kind of bad luck.

Also, Brayden hasn't really shown himself to be anything special yet.

Can't say 100% for sure, since you can't really see when Amonte crosses the line at the bottom of the screen, but, it doesn't look offsides to me. I was more angry about the fact that they lost to the Flyers again. Or, and game 5 of that series. Pathetic effort by the Leafs that night.

Angriest I've been lately was when they honoured Sundin last season and the team couldn't be bothered to show up for the game. Just unacceptable.

Amonte was still in the NHL the last time the Leafs made the playoffs, amazing.

So was Ron Francis.

Oh yeah he was on the Leafs!  Heyoooooooooooooooooooooo

+1 that Brayden Schenn pick has yet to be anything of note.

How would you say flyers fans feel about the Simmonds/Schenn for Richards deal today?

That trade is looking worse and worse by the game.
It was difficult when Richards and Carter won the Cup with LA last year but Flyers fans still felt a sort of kinship because of the many former Flyers who are on that team.

Also, we felt ok because we expected the Flyers to compete again in the following season. Now though, the Flyers are floundering and in very, very tough to make the playoffs. So if we finish out of the playoffs this year the second guessing and anger about those deals is going to start to bubble up.

Personally, I am disappointed with Schenn but I love Simmonds.

I have little doubt Brayden becomes a star. It's just a matter of time before it happens. Maybe it's playing in Philadelphia that's hurting some of these prospects? The change of scenery has worked out pretty well so far for JVR.

You know if the Leafs had that 5th overall pick from 09 (and took Schenn) we'd be ruing and complaining that we passed on the Ekman-Larsson kid. He's looking like one of the real studs of that draft.

Schenn is good, I think the 2nd line center projection that they pegged him at is still accurate but in hindsight the difference between him and Kadri was probably based on one being way ahead in physically development than the other.

Their upsides are probably very similar, if not tilted in Kadri's favour, but I always got the sense that Schenn was considered the "safer bet".

I think it had more to do with Schenn being the more well-rounded player, when both had similar skill levels. Really, if Kadri's not on a scoring line, he's a pretty ineffective player. If Schenn doesn't pan out offensively, he still has a future as a checking line guy - kind of like what happened with Chad Kilger.

Oh yeah, big time. I flew across the country and paid big bucks to watch that debacle. That won't happen again for a while.

Roenick scored the game winner in game 6, last playoff game the leafs have had. Offside. Furious.

That was the most devastated/depressed/crushed I felt after a Leafs game. I was never angry about it though.

It wasn't offside, but Sundin was cut by a high stick moments earlier. Still, i was more devastated than angry.

I was devastated by Gelinas goal.

My issue with Roenick's goal was how Primeau had stepped one foot on the ice to help Kapanen get on the bench after Tucker destroyed his soul. I always thought that play should have been blown down.

Oh man, you guys sure have tons of reasons why that goal shouldn't have happened.
High sticks, offsides, too many men. You know what really would helped that goal not happen? If Belfour had actually made the save on a stoppable shot. But I digress.
Dont worry you can mock me in about 6 weeks when the Flyers are officially eliminated from the playoffs.
