Game#19 Toronto @ Nashville 8 pm LeafsTV, AM640 blah blah blah

Yeah the offense needs to get going, but we're also outshooting them 31-20 and facing a goalie with a 2.19 GAA and a .933 SV% with a whole bunch of injuries.

It's frustrating, but they're acquitting themselves pretty well in this game.  Rinne's pretty amazing, it's why he got that massive contract.

Beyond the record anyone else sad that this season went from fun to watch to frustrating garbage game after game

I'm sad with how many regulars are being injured, forcing us to go with a mixed up lineup with our 2nd and 3rd string goalies.

The players we still have have been pulled into the vortex of suck though.

Phaneuf 11 points and +7 in the first 10 games, now 1 point and -6 in the last 9

I'm assuming teams are recognizing how we have players out and are just keying on one line really well.

Indeed and if you look at how we were winning those early games, it was mostly big performances from individuals while most of the team coasted.  Not team play, our PP and PK are evidence of that.  The depth that were hoping would show up never did and then most of it got injured.  Between the injuries and opponents keying on our few performers, the team is in shambles.

I know the goaltending has been bad but I think it was always a pretty unstable house of cards.

The Leafs legs are starting to look done.  They need to pot something soon to give them a boost to make a last minute push to tie the game.  Beyond that, they need to stop trying to pass the puck into the get.  Get someone in front of the net and just throw anything and everything at it.

I actually think the Leafs have been the better team tonight, and by a pretty fair margin at that. If not for a few defensive gaffes that lead to some questionable goals, the Leafs could easily be out in front right now. The Preds have had very little offensive pressure tonight.

Shambles is pretty strong a word to use - we were still 5-4-1 in our last 10 coming in.  Sure it's looking like it will be 5-5-1, but I don't know how much more we can expect until we hopefully move through this rash of injuries.  It's tough for any team to come back from that - I doubt Pittsburgh would have as many wins as they do without one of the best goalies in the game in net for them.

It's frustrating, but I'm certainly not ready to write everything off yet.  Just have to at least tread water and get some bodies back and number 1 being consistent goaltending.

It's a real shame the Leafs are falling like this. I'm not a Leaf fan but I am really hoping they can make the post season.

The goaltending is the most depressing part of all. It could pull this whole mess out of the fire and back into the frying pan but there has been no good news for weeks.
