Game 61 - Sharks @ Leafs- Feb 23rd, 2012 - 7:00 PM EST - TSN, AM640

Whatever. Let's give Marleau a wide open shot from the faceoff dot. He's scoring that against a lot of goalies.

My thoughts as well. Not everyone can get off a rocket to the top corner that quickly.

I see the Lupul-Bozak-Kessel line has decided that they don't need to give the defense anything to outlet pass to.  Stop skating up to the blueline and trying to make the defense thread the needed through 3-4 Sharks defenders just to get the puck out of the zone.

That line needs to be broken up IMO.  Their defensive play is a real detriment.

Good point on the Allaire style for Reimer is not working

It's certainly odd that the longer our goalies work with Allaire, the worse they seem to get.

Before the Leafs got Allaire as their goaltending coach, I've never heard of a goaltending coach getting any attention... ever.

Now it seems like all we hear about is how the goalies are struggling to convert their game to Allaire's style.

Yeah, that was a pretty good shot.

That would be a good question to ask Reimer. Did the goal tending coach change his 'style' of play or not?

A buddy of mine showed me a few pictures of Reimer from when he was on the Marlies and when he first came up for the Leafs. His stance was a lot higher up back then. Now he's crouched WAY DOWN LOW when waiting for a shot, so much so that his head is under the cross bar. I have no idea if this is a result of Allaire but it's interesting.

...not only that but it's not like McKichan was any better, who did he improve exactly?

Terrible penalty call by the back ref.  Schenn knocked down the guy in front of the net as the puck was right on Reimer.

And here I had a good feeling about this game and thought the Leafs were going to win. Guess that means the Canucks will end the Wings home win streak, too.
