Marlies Talk 14/15 | aka What's Nylander up to?

The Marlies have turned a bit of a corner.  Points in 10 straight games - 7 wins and 3 OTLs
12-4-3 in their last 19 games.

Adding Nylander next week should really strengthen them for a playoff push.  The flip side being their roster might get decimated if the Leafs start selling off assets.

Depending on how trades play out, their roster could also be supplemented.

Nylander probably looking at Dubas' comments about not being called up no matter what and thinking "Thank you Dubas"

Nylander probably made it one of his requirements for coming over.

Since it's winter we're starting up the Hype Train today to get it warmed up for tomorrow night.  Marlies play in Hamilton, the game will be on TSN 1050 and Rogers TV according to Marlies.ca.

And they face Hamilton the next day at 3:00 p.m. at Ricoh.  Something called "Leafs Nation Day."  Also on Rogers TV.

Nylander!

We sold hockey tickets through my kids hockey league months ago for the game tomorrow in Hamilton. Couldn't have lucked out more on the timing. Nylanders debut should be exciting!

Don't worry, Nylander's already being asked about it.

@markhmasters

Nylander on sweater tossing: "Of course, the fans care so much about the team & what's going on so it happens but I can't say much about it"

I had been wondering all week about this, thank god one of the fine journalists in Toronto found the man everyone wants to hear from and asked the no nonsense questions.

I watched the Marlies game last night.. they looked just like the Leafs, and were shut out 3-0. However, Nylander looked a cut above everyone else there.

They didn't play him very often, but you could always tell when he was on the ice. He created a few good chances, forced a few turnovers, and he enters the o-zone beautifully. Maybe I'm reading into things, but he did look a little uncomfortable with the smaller ice at times, though.  Some of his passes seemed to surprise his linemates, too; different play style, I suppose.

Moved the jersey talk over to the main board just since it wasn't really Marlies-related:
